Over the past two weeks, I’ve received quite a few questions through the Ask Harry contact form. While I won’t be able to get to every question, I figured I could use this entry to answer a few of them.
“What is Balsic Media?”
— Tim Duncan, Former Power Forward for the San Antonio Spurs
Great question, Tim Duncan. Balsic Media is the hottest up-and-coming global media empire on the market. It all started when I was editing the credits for Valhalla Productions’ hit direct-to-DVD short film, Valhalla. You see, I had to fill three minutes and forty-four seconds of space; however, the entirety of the crew consisted of four people.
Lalo and I had already decided on forming a production company, calling it Valhalla Productions, but as executive producer of the film, I figured I should also form a media production company in order to fill up eight seconds of the screen time. After giving a few seconds of thought to the idea, I decided to name the company Balsic Media because my name is Harold Dicken Balsic, and I wanted this to be something I could put my family name on and, eventually, upon my timely demise, forgo hiring a qualified candidate and give the company to my children to ultimately run into the ground, as all great media empires have before mine.
For the time being, Balsic Media has served as a creative outlet for me and a reason to continue working on my writing, commentary, and films. Its main purpose at the moment is to generate a loyal fan base who will then support my long-form projects, such as my autobiography, coming out October 9, or Valhalla Productions’ first full-length film, Friends From Work, an adaptation of my novelette, Friends From Work.
“I am a hot female supermodel with massive honkers. Are you single? I would like to make sweet love to you in a myriad of disgusting and intricate positions. My phone number is (345) ***-****. Call me for a good time ;)”

Well, Anonymous, while I appreciate your straightforwardness and vulnerability, I am, in fact, not single and am happily in a relationship with a wonderful woman. While we do not always see eye to eye and I tend to get on her nerves relentlessly, she does, in fact, make me want to be the best man I can be and has improved my life drastically.
You know, before I’d begun dating my beautiful girlfriend, I lacked nearly all motivation and reason to live. I was content with a day of working a pencil-pushing, lower-middle-class-income-level job before coming home to do a mind-numbing amount of Delta-9 THC and rot on my couch every evening until I physically could not stay awake.
But after beginning to date her, I was forced to take a long, hard look at myself in the mirror and see that the life I was living was destructive and keeping me from achieving all I was capable of.
While she is not a huge fan of me spending my time writing or recording commentary, or spending long hours at my computer going over spreadsheets, I do hope to one day make enough money from this to give her the life I feel she deserves.
